Description
The Auto Sync suite is a professional background service for Revit designed to automate repetitive management tasks silently and efficiently.
Core Features & Usage:
1. Global Activation: Enable the system using the green master toggle in the top-right header. When disabled, no background tasks will fire.
2. Task Management: The “Status” tab provides a dashboard for four primary automated tasks:
- Synchronize / Save: Automatically saves local files or synchronizes with central, with smart logic to skip unchanged models.
- Relinquish Ownership: Releases borrowed elements, and work sets to keep the team moving.
- Linked Documents: Automatically reloads Revit links to ensure the host file has the latest discipline data.
- Auto-Exit: Safely shuts down Revit after a period of inactivity or at a scheduled time.
3. Scheduling & Mode:
- Continuous Mode: Tasks trigger strictly at clock intervals (e.g., every 15, 30, or 60 minutes).
- Idle Mode: Tasks only trigger if Revit has been idle for a user-defined duration.
- Time Boundaries: Define specific start and end times (e.g., 09:00 – 18:00) to restrict automated operations.
4. Model Maintenance:
- Compact on Sync: Automatically compresses files during synchronization.
- Smart Backup Cleanup: Deletes old `.000x` backup files to manage server storage.
5. Audit Trail: Monitor the Activity Log tab to see a persistent history of all background events and task completions.
Key Features:
- Automated Synchronization: Set intervals (15m, 30m, 60m) to save locally or sync with central automatically.
- Idle Protection: Smart ‘Idle Mode’ ensures tasks only run when you take a break, never interrupting your active work.
- Relinquish Ownership: Automatically release borrowed elements to prevent team bottlenecks.
- Live Dashboard: Visualize countdowns and status for all background operations in a modern, responsive UI.
- Model Health: Integrated ‘Compact on Sync’ and ‘Backup Cleanup’ keep your project files lean and optimized.
